From the spring runways to the silver screen, it's all about seeing hair through crimson-colored glasses this season.
Natural Redheads: Illuminate & Laminate
To amplify your hair's natural tones, use a color-depositing cleanser and conditioner, like L'Oreal Professionnel's Artec Ginger Root, and apply a clear gloss treatment as needed. Also, if you want a sun-kissed look for summer, be sure to stick with golden tones to achieve the most natural-looking finish.
Wannabe Redheads: Get Dirty
If you're looking to go red, opt for no ammonia color, which will bring out your hair's natural red tones. It also help to keep reds looking vibrant and rich. In terms of care, try to shampoo less frequently (just rinse and condition) and invest in a gentle shampoo formulated for color-treated hair— or specifically for
redheads— to help keep color from fading.
Redheads Looking to Convert: Stay Golden
If you're wanting to lighten your locks, be sure to keep your color golden— it's very difficult to get natural red pigment out without having to strip the hair. And if you're craving a darker look, be sure to use semi-permanent or non-ammonia color as they last
longer and won't fade as quickly. Also, ginger roots can look strange if not maintained so, if you can't get to the salon, swipe a matching hair mascara (or matte eyeshadow, if you're in a pinch) where needed to help hide any awkward new growth.
