Lauder Acquires Ojon
It seems that many of the successful beauty brands, we once knew to be independent, have been acquired by either L'Oreal or Lauder in the past decade and Ojon is no exception. Estee Lauder recently announced that they’ve gone into contract to purchase the Canadian hair care company, which is currently distributed via QVC, Sephora and Nordstrom stores, as well as approximately 300 salons in North America.
"The acquisition of Ojon strengthens our position in hair care and further broadens our distribution. It should enable us to expand in the rapidly growing direct response television and specialty retailing channels," said Philip Shearer, Group President of The Estee Lauder Companies. "Natural and organic products are among the fastest growing areas in the beauty industry and Ojon has a compelling story that we believe should resonate with consumers globally."
